Mia Hamm comes to Portland!

Portland area Soccer players meet a legend!   

Portland, OR- Portland area soccer players on Sunday, September 19, met and played soccer with world legend Mia Hamm.  The event raised over $20,000 for the Mia Hamm Foundation.

During the fundraising campaign, as players collect donations toward their cumulative, individual goal, they received, at the:

• $50 level: 2 tickets to attend the Q&A with Mia Hamm followed by the soccer game with the top 50 fundraisers.  A flexible wrist band engraved with Mia Hamm’s “Play Hard, Play Fair” message and a congratulatory thank you letter from her.
• $150 level: An official event T-shirt.
• $250 level: An invitation to attend, with a guest, a Soccer Showcase featuring Mia Hamm in Oregon on September 19 including lunch with Mia Hamm, a Q&A and then a soccer game with the top 50 fundraisers with Mia!

 The top:

• 50 overall fundraisers will play in a soccer game WITH MIA HAMM following the Q&A. The top 25 fundraisers will play with Mia Hamm on TEAM MIA. The next 25 overall fundraisers will play against Mia Hamm on TEAM OREGON.

•Incentive prizes will be distributed at the Soccer Showcase.

Oregon Youth Soccer Association is pleased and honored to introduce Mia Hamm to Oregon. Mia Hamm is not only the five-time recipient of the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year award, she is also an individual dedicated to raising funds and awareness for two very personal causes: research for bone marrow diseases and the encouragement and empowerment of young female athletes. Together, we hope to generate revenue and awareness for Oregon Youth Soccer Association and the Mia Hamm Foundation.

When you raise:

• $50, you will receive a flexible wrist band engraved with Mia Hamm’s “Play Hard Play Fair” message and a congratulatory thank you letter from her.

The event with Mia Hamm will be held at the Tualatin Indoor Soccer facility on Sunday, September 19.  The lunch is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm and the Q&A is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.

You will be notified by email Friday, September 17 if you are among the TOP 50 fundraisers.

If you have raised $250 and are attending the lunch please arrive at 12:30 pm. 

If you are attending the Q&A and soccer game please arrive at 1:30 pm.

For those top 50 fundraisers playing soccer with Mia please wear either Tennis/Flat sole, Turf and indoor soccer shoes.  Cleated shoes are prohibited.
